News from Rota

Great News for Rota ! We have received official notification that we have been included on the Engineering Framework to supply lifting solutions to Severn Trent Water. Paul Rowley, Rota’s Water Industry Specialist, has been working alongside Severn Trent Engineers and Managers over many years, being instrumental in obtaining our place on the CPA with Severn Trent for Small to Medium Lifting Equipment in 2003. Paul will now be working closely with the AMP4 contractors and assisting Severn Trent Water in achieving their aims and objectives for standardisation, best practice and cost effective whole life solutions.

Following her health problems it was with regret that Linda Hems resigned as Managing Director in April. Linda had been General Manager and Managing Director at Rota since September 2000 and had changed the company beyond recognition within this time. Linda holds the post of General Manager once more and is still actively involved in the day to day management of the company.

This change involved the appointment of two more Directors who join Ian and Linda as shareholders of the company.

These are:

James Simms – now Production Director, and

Alan Meacham – now Technical Director.

Ian now holds the Managing Directorship of the company.

  Arrival of Lilly Mae

Congratulations to James and Jo. The proud Mrs Simms gave birth to beautiful Lilly Mae who arrived in the world on 18 th December 2004 weighing in at 7lbs exactly. She is gaining in weight and wonderment by the day and thankfully taking after her gorgeous mother Jo.

Desktop Davit being presented to Garry Sutton by Paul Rowley and James Simms

One of our long standing customer contacts at STW retired recently, and Rota were commissioned to design and manufacture a desktop stainless steel davit. The working model caused much interest and its recipient - Garry "Sooty" Sutton - was delighted with his memento of his many years service.
